Costs & Choosing Your Gate
Every project is unique, but a professional installation typically starts from £3,000 for basic swing gates and £5,000+ for sliding systems. The final price depends on material choice (Aluminium, Steel, or Timber), the type of motor (underground vs. surface-mounted), and the complexity of the groundwork required.
Swing Gates: Best for traditional driveways with plenty of flat space for the gates to open inwards.
Sliding Gates: The go-to solution for short driveways, steep slopes, or where space is tight. They offer excellent security but generally require more groundwork for the track or cantilever system.
For Yorkshire farms and estates, we recommend Heavy-Duty Steel or Composite-Clad gates. These withstand the harsh local weather and provide high security for livestock and machinery. For remote entrances, we often integrate GSM/4G access control, allowing you to open the gate from your phone anywhere on the farm.
Maintenance & Repairs

Planning & Process
In most cases, gates are “permitted development.” However, you generally need planning permission if:
The gate is over 1 metre high and next to a highway/footpath.
The gate is over 2 metres high elsewhere.
