Sliding Gate Installation with Hydraulic Safety Brake

This installation highlights an important safety feature incorporated into a sliding gate system installed on a property with naturally sloping ground.

Due to the fall of the land, the client had previously been advised that a sliding gate might not be suitable for the site. However, with the correct equipment specification and additional safety measures, sliding gates can still operate reliably and safely even where gradients are present.

As part of this installation, a hydraulic brake was fitted to control the movement of the gate when placed into manual release mode. Without this type of safeguard, gravity can allow a sliding gate on a slope to move freely once disengaged from the motor. The hydraulic brake prevents this by controlling the gate’s movement, ensuring it remains stable and manageable during manual operation.

By carefully selecting the appropriate automation equipment and integrating additional safety components where required, the system is able to operate smoothly while maintaining the level of control expected from a professionally installed gate system.

At Owl Access Ltd, every installation is assessed individually to ensure the final system is both practical for the environment and configured with long-term safety in mind.
